The Etrog Box is designed in the shape of the Etrog citrus fruit with a knob and a stalk with two leaves. The fruit is encircled with a silver band. The silver band is designed as a heart in reference to the Midrash, which symbolizes the Etrog fruit as the human heart. The Etrog container is lined with linen padding which affords maximum protection to the delicate fruit. The container is opened by a mechanism hidden in the stalk. By pulling it out, one opens the bottom golden half. The leaves serve the function of carrying the Etrog to the synagogue. Sterling silver, brass, patinated copper, linen, 11" x 5.5" x 5" $ 4,190 |
